Senior Staff Functional Safety Engineer

Develop and maintain the project safety plan in coordination with project management and engineering teams Create functional safety concepts and technical safety concepts Derive safety requirements from safety concepts and define safety strategies to address random hardware failures Define system safe states, transitions, and perform failure analysis for interfaces Conduct design safety analysis including FMEA, FTA for systematic failures across system, software, and hardware levels Lead functional safety meetings with customers and act as an interface between customer safety organizations and engineering departments Prepare test case specifications for functional safety validation Maintain Development Interface Agreement (DIA) with customers Compile safety cases and perform hazard analysis and risk assessments Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field 5+ years of experience in functional safety within the automotive industry Proficient understanding of ISO26262 and its application in product development Experience with safety analysis tools and methodologies (FMEDA, FTA, DFA) Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment Communication skills and proficiency in English
