Who we are looking for We are seeking a Freelance API Architect / Technical Lead for a leading company in the insurance sector. This is a short-term engagement focused on supporting a competitive tender process, with the potential for extended collaboration upon successful award. What you will do In this role, you will design and define the API architecture strategy for a major migration project, working closely with international stakeholders to establish governance frameworks and technical standards. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive architectural documentation and providing expert guidance on MuleSoft implementation best practices. Responsibilities and activities Design and define API architecture patterns and standards for enterprise-scale implementations Establish API governance frameworks, including policy as code and semantic versioning strategies Provide technical coordination and alignment with Group-level architecture teams Define migration strategies from legacy API Gateway platforms to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform Create technical documentation for tender submissions, including architectural diagrams and implementation roadmaps Advise on OAuth 2.0 security implementations and OpenAPI 3.0 specifications Must have hands-on experience with: Strong expertise with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Flex Gateway, API Manager, Design Center) Deep knowledge of OAuth 2.0 authentication and authorization frameworks Proficiency in OpenAPI 3.0 specification and API design patterns Experience with semantic versioning and API lifecycle management Proven track record in API Gateway migrations , particularly from CA Broadcom ESG to MuleSoft Strong capability in defining policy as code and API governance models Fluent English (mandatory for international collaboration) Nice to have: Experience in the insurance or financial services sector Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and microservices architectures Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Experience with agile methodologies and collaborative working environments Previous involvement in competitive tender processes Mode of work: Full remote Duration of engagement: January 2025, with potential extension upon project award Recruitment process Our recruitment process has 2 stages: HR interview with our recruitment team Technical evaluation with our internal technical experts How to apply You can send your CV to hr@fortitudegroup.it
