Expanded Learning Enrichment Facilitator

We are currently seeking a committed and passionate Academic Mentor to lead physical and enrichment activities as part of our Expanded Learning Program at Oakland Tech High School in Oakland, CA.
Instructors must be able to work with up to 20 youth during expanded learning hours: Mondays: 3:30pm to 5:30pm, Wednesdays: 2:30pm-5:00pm, Fridays: 2:30pm-5:00pm.
Commitment to continuous youth development and connection to our communities and families are our top priorities.
Benefits Pay rate: $22/hour (depending on experience)Part Time: 10 hours per weekStepping stone into a career in education, leadership, advocacy, social entrepreneurship, and social justiceMinimum Requirements Must have an (a) Associate Degree or higher, or (b) 48 or more college units, or (c) High School Diploma or GED and pass Instructional Aide examAbility to reliably commute to Oakland, CACommitment to education equity and leadershipAbility to work in a collaborative team environmentMust pass a criminal background checkMust provide negative TB clearanceResponsibilities Support and maintain the emotional well-being of the students.Provide a safe environment.Be a positive role model for struggling students.Engage students in lesson plans that support school-day learning.Run community circles based on restorative practices.Collaborate with youth to support their learning and development (youth-driven curriculum).About Us Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) promotes the healthy development of individuals, families, and communities through direct services, volunteerism, and partnerships in the San Francisco Bay Area.
