Role OverviewThe Product Development Engineer is a key member of R&D, reporting to the R&D Product Development Manager. He/She is responsible for product design and development activities.
The key focus of this role is to ensure that the product design meets technical specifications and customer performance requirements, enabling them to be competitive within the marketplace while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Tasks and ResponsibilitiesEnsure products conform to design and compliance with regulatory standards (ETRTO / TRA)Review and interpret customer specifications to determine appropriate designs required to meet customer requirementsPrepare various drawings including Tread Pattern drawings, Mold Profile drawings, and Product drawings to define product configurationPrepare Design Data (Manufacturing specification, BOM) from the tire design to enable prototypes and production tires to be manufacturedDefine and issue test requests for product qualification (indoor and outdoor)Ensure Design Data provided to Process Development/Production is accurate, up to date, and enables efficient manufacture of the tirePrepare departmental documentation to ensure compliance with Quality and customer auditsDevelop new technologies for tire design (including CAD, FEA)Job RequirementsUniversity Degree in Engineering or Technical DisciplinesFluent in EnglishGood knowledge of CAD 2D / 3DExperience in product development activities is an assetBasic knowledge of tire manufacturing processes is an assetBasic knowledge of Tire/Materials technology is an assetOpen mindset to new technology developmentAble to work, innovate, and succeed as part of a teamGood communication skills with the ability to interface internally and externallyIndependent thinker but able to work within a wider teamAble to be open and honest, to listen carefully, discuss freely, and behave fairly
