Technical Product Manager - FSS Introduction ALFA LAVAL is a Swedish multinational company operating in Italy for over 100 years with several sales offices, manufacturing and research and development.
The R&D Team, based in Monza, is responsible for the product development and product upgrade and maintenance of Fuel Conditioning Systems (FCS) for Marine and Engine Power applications. You will be part of building up this function in Monza within Product Center, in close cooperation with Global Sales and Engineering and Supply functions.
The R&D Team is looking for a Technical Product Manager for Monza Site. The Technical Product Manager (TPM) has the technical responsibility for the definition of the FCS solutions for traditional and alternative fuels and product knowledge within the Product Center.
Job Description Summary The TPM significantly contributes to the development and implementation of new products, to assure the full operability and maintenance, together with cost saving initiatives before going into production. The Technical Product Manager is also, together with R&D, Product Management and Global Sales, responsible for delivering new and innovative solutions to customers.

Proactive attitudeOpen mindCommunication capabilitiesFlexibilityResult-orientedAbility to build and maintain relationships What about the job Generate new ideas and concepts related to products and technologyContribute to writing and reviewing Feasibility Studies and Project SpecificationsActively scout technologies in the market and drive component qualificationMonitor market new technology landscape and evolution of rules and regulationsDrive technical development of new products and services from product concept to launch to match customer needs implementing the change request, market demands and the requests of Global SalesActive coordination of Designers and interface with other specialistsInitiate production of prototypes, samples and lab testsGuarantee design changes and document revision and approvalManage product and component technical ownershipKeep the FCS product portfolio competitive and technically updatedActively interface with Project Managers, drivers of NPD/EPD Projects and Application Manager during discussion with Clients for new or extended applicationsDrive cost saving initiatives during the implementation of product modification and upgradeKeep the overall budget for the Product update: man-hours, timing and qualityInterface with E&S and Sourcing functions to explain the content of the updatesEnsure technical support for solving and maintaining product claim ratios on targetSupport to purchasing and supply activitiesLead the technical relation with external suppliers What you know Chemical/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering degree or similarPrevious experience in this role will be a plusKnowledge in the fuel conditioning process on board vessels will be a plusKnowledge of Machinery Directive and UE New Legislative Framework for CE Mark (PED, ATEX, etc)Competences in Product design and engineering processCompetence in process simulation and CFD simulationAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments and Office package (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD 2D/3D, Inventor 3D and OfficeKnowledge of PDM system and PLM methodology is considered an assetMulti-cultural awarenessVery good spoken and written English
