Biodiversity & Ecosystem Consultant

RINA is currently recruiting for a Biodiversity & Ecosystem Consultant to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.
MissionAs part of our Environmental Engineering Team, the Biodiversity Consultant has a pivotal role in assessing and managing the impacts of projects on biodiversity.
They are responsible for identifying, evaluating, and proposing mitigation strategies for these impacts, as well as ensuring projects comply with biodiversity performance standards. Their work involves conducting thorough assessments, collaborating with project teams, and engaging stakeholders to minimize environmental harm and promote sustainable practices.
Job ResponsibilitiesHabitat/critical habitat assessmentBiodiversity action plansAssessment & gap analysis of international biodiversity standardsDue diligence and monitoring on financed projectsField reportsThematic mappingExperiences and RequirementsPrevious professional experience in biodiversity related activities on medium-large scale international projects, with particular reference to the application of international standards and guidelines, such as: IFC/WB PS6, EBRD PR6, Equator Principles, DNSH, company policies, etc.Familiarity with national & EU environmental/biodiversity regulationItalian mother tongue and fluency in English (other languages will be considered as a plus)Familiarity with GIS toolsFamiliarity with other environmental modelling and monitoring tools will be considered as a plusAvailability for missions (including field activities) in Italy and abroadEducationBachelor's Degree
Master's Degree in Natural Science or Environmental Science
