Help foster a culture of innovation and societal change, where individuals from all backgrounds can thrive and succeed.To learn more about this opportunity and submit your application, please refer to the following:ROLEThe post-doc scientist will be supporting the researchers in IESP's Marine Biogeochemistry group in producing regional and coastal marine biogeochemical simulations and analysing their results to identify the processes that drive the change of biogeochemical fluxes in the pelagic and benthic system under climate change within the ATLANTECO, EDITO-Lab and ALIENA projectsRESPONSIBILITIESThe candidate will support the biogeochemical modelling team by:Setting up, performing and post-processing the simulations;Analysing the produced model results;Preparation of scientific papers presenting the outcomes.REQUIREMENTSPhD in Climate Science and Ocean Biogeochemistry or equivalent subjects;Experience in scientific programming and data analysis, demonstrated skills in python and/or FORTRAN programming as well as parallel computing;Previous Experience and skills in the field of dynamically downscaled simulations of coupled physical biogeochemical ocean models and knowledge of the NEMO and BFM consortium models are of particular advantage;Proficient knowledge of the English language;Collaborative and analytical skills in a highly competitive environment.DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITSPlease note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally. The Managers will be based in BolognaCMCC office.The appointment period will be initially of 24 monthsstarting fromJuly 2024, with a gross annual salary range of28-36K Euros.Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as a junior researcher. Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract.Flexible working time as per internal policies.Support during the immigration process, if needed.PROTECTED CATEGORYBelonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.Some fiscal benefits could be applied for repatriated workers or foreign researchers/professors, having the requirements defined by Dlgs 147/2015 (for repatriates) or Dl 78/2010 (for foreigners).CMCC is an equal-opportunity employer.
