The End-to-End Navigation System department of Thales Alenia Space in Italy is looking for a Navigation System Engineer that, reporting directly to the Head of Department, can:
Support the execution of exciting programs (GALILEO, Moonlight, LEO PNTIod, etc.);Contribute to the acquisition of new business opportunities;Foster Research & Development activities in the satellite navigation domain.As a System Engineer at Thales, you will: Analyze and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, etc.;Formalize specifications and architecture used to propose the best solution/product to clients;Prepare and carry out integration, verification, and validation tests;Define test plans and procedures for system-level testing;Ensure the technical integration and coherence of the system design, interfaces, and performances;Design the architecture of the command and control system;Demonstrate the solution to the customer.Moreover, you will: Contribute to the growth of the engineering department activities (e.g., acquisition of new contracts, definition of the strategy for the evolution of the competences of the department, etc.);Contribute to R&D activities through the proposal and execution of new studies;Support interaction with the University through the definition and follow-up of thesis, stage, etc.;Have the opportunity to participate in international meetings and conferences held worldwide.Language: Fluent English, spoken and written.
A master's degree in electronic, telecommunications, computer science, aerospace engineering, or equivalent;Knowledge about basic telecommunication principles (propagation error, access schema, modulations, etc.);Familiarity with the usage of System Engineering Tools (e.g., MBSE Tools, Requirement Management Tools, Simulation Tools, Matlab, etc.);Knowledge of Satellite Navigation and/or Communication Systems, with at least 5 years of experience in the field;Experience with leading engineering projects or activities;Capability to adapt and react to change;Distinct propensity to teamwork and problem-solving, proactivity, and attitude to find innovative solutions.At Thales Alenia Space, we provide CAREERS and not just jobs.
