If you have any questions about this vacancy or the application process, please email us at: ****** Hauptaufgaben Incumbent work is performed at the Pisa Ammunition Support Activity, a Theater Storage Area, operated by Ammunition Center Europe, Theater Logistics Support Center-Europe/Africa in support of the ammunition mission.
Serves as Ammunition Handler, performing duties within the Ammunition Support Activity directly involving the shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, moving, storing and maintaining all types of ammunition and explosives, components, related items and associated equipment.
Receives, unloads.
unpacks, sorts, segregates and places items in storage in assigned and designated storage locations in accordance with prescribed methods, storage drawings, planographs and instructions, and ensures proper ammunition segregation by NSN, DODIC, type, lot number, condition code and storage compatibility group.
Retrieves items from storage and prepares items for shipment, movement, re-warehousing, inspection or other operation in accordance with prescribed methods and instructions.
Prepares full and light boxes and containers for storage or shipment.
Performs ammunition item cleaning, painting, marking, stenciling, packing, and palletization as needed, required or directed.
Loads ammunition for shipment or movement on various conveyances such as trucks, trailers, ISOMILVAN containers, railcars or other transports, and prepares required blocking and bracing, and prior to conveyance movement secures cargo by blocking and bracing using prescribed methods in accordance with applicable load drawings and instructions.
Operates various material handling equipment such as hand operated hydraulic pallet jacks and 4,000 lbs to 25,000 lbs capacity forklifts and rough terrain container handlers to load, unloads move, store, stack, and retrieve ammunition items.
Operates light vehicles on and off post and trucks up tons capacity within the ammunition storage area to transport ammunition, tools and equipment.
Performs vehicle and equipment cleaning and operator maintenance.
Cleans and maintains ammunition magazines, other storage structures and the Ammunition Storage Area.
Ensures assigned crews clean working areas after operations are completed.
Sorts and segregates unpackaged ammunition turn-ins and screens expended ammunition item residue for live ammunition and explosives.
NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 0800 TO 1700, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.

MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT AND CARRY 50 POUNDS; 3.
ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND SPEAK TECHNICAL ENGLISH, AND UNDERSTAND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS; 4.
ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS; 5.
ABILTY TO FOLLOW GENERAL, DETAILED AND TECHNICAL VERBAL AND WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS; 6.
HANDLING AND EXPOSURE TO DANGEROUS MATERIALS.
