ROLE SUMMARY: Located in the attractive and rural countryside, approximately 15 minutes from the city of Modena, the doors of the International School of Modena open every day to 220+ students from over 34 nationalities. IS Modena is a fully authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum school offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP, ages 3-11), Middle Years Programme (MYP, ages 11-16) and Diploma Programme (DP, ages 16-18). We endeavour to deliver the International Baccalaureate programmes together with the school's core values and the IB's Learner Profile embodied in everything that we do. Both the school and the group to which it belongs, have an established record of success in the IB, from Early Years all the way through to admission to the world's leading universities after graduating ISM.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced teacher of Biology MYP and IBDP to join the team in January 2025. Ideally applicants will have experience of teaching in the IB Diploma Programme. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Planning and delivering the curriculum for: IBDP Biology and IBMYP combined sciences. Standardizing internal assessments with colleagues. Supervising Extended Essays and Personal Projects as necessary. Working closely with the DP Coordinator and MYP Coordinator to ensure grade banks are accurate and provide key data to drive student success. Contributing to school development through active participation in staff professional development. Offering an Extra Curricular activity that supports or extends the current portfolio of offerings. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: A university degree in a related Scientific subject and an appropriate teaching qualification;  Recent experience successfully teaching the subject within the 11-19 age range; To be enthusiastic and passionate, showing a love of Science and having the ability to convey this successfully to students of all abilities;  Experience with external and internal IB assessment and Extended Essay essential; A firm understanding of the importance of personalised learning learning in an inclusive environment; SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT Inspired Education Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.
