Job Description
We are looking for a Rotative Equipment Mechanical Engineer who will collaborate to the Lead Fast Reactor (LFR) design activities for Nuclear Reactor Assembly and experimental facilities, focusing on design aspects related to Rotative Equipment such as the reactor primary pump.
Main Activities Perform mechanical engineering in all project phases.Carry out feasibility studies, conceptual design, basic and front-end design, detail engineering and design for rotative equipment such as pumps.Develop internal standards for rotative equipment.Cooperate in the preparation of 3D models, drawings and documents for tendering.Supervise the execution of assembly and fabrication drawings.Prepare specifications and material requisitions for the supply of rotative equipment.Technical evaluation and alignment of manufacturer bids for the supply of equipment.Prepare and participate in pre-award meetings, kick-off meetings, pre-inspection meetings and inspections for supply of equipment.Participate in kick-off meetings, review meetings, design meetings and studies.Ensure the supply of deliverables and services are in accordance with the defined scope of work and delivery schedule.Provide creative solutions in mechanical and equipment design, prepare and update mechanical engineering design manuals, general specifications and standard equipment data sheets.Set up work practices, processes, procedures, and instructions.Contribute to the development of 3D models.Participate in the identification of breakthrough solutions to the most complex engineering challenges.Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs.Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.Coordinate assigned work with other technical personnel as directed.Participate in and foster a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.Desired Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Master or PhD is a plus.Fluent in Italian and English; French is a plus.Good knowledge of SolidWorks for 3D/2D Modelling or other 3D tools.Experience in design, fabrication, and assembly of rotative equipment (pumps).Knowledge of RCC-M / RCC-MRx or ASME nuclear design and construction codes.At least 5 years' experience (depending on seniority Junior/Senior) in mechanical design of rotative equipment in industrial plants, preferably in power or nuclear plants.Knowledge of standards for rotating equipment (RCC or ASME, PED).Understanding of the engineering cycle for development of feasibility, basic design, detailed engineering, commissioning and start-up.Good knowledge of design and analysis principles for rotative equipment (pump) such as vibration and hydraulic main principles.Understanding of analytical techniques and relevant design codes.Ability to participate in team meetings and give technical presentations.
