YOUR ROLE The role of a silicon carbide Field Application Engineer is to provide technical support and guidance to customers who are using silicon carbide products. You will work closely with customers to understand their specific needs and requirements, and then provide recommendations on the best silicon carbide products to use for their applications.
The Field Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance during the design and development phase of a project, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise during the testing and implementation phase. You will also work with customers to optimize the performance of their silicon carbide products and provide training and education on the use and maintenance of these products.
In addition, the Field Application Engineer works closely with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and to develop strategies for expanding the company's customer base. You will stay up-to-date on the latest developments and trends in the silicon carbide industry and provide feedback to the company's research and development team to help improve product performance and quality.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES Strong technical background in power electronics and energy systems Experience in designing and testing power electronics circuits and systems Knowledge of power semiconductor devices such as MOSFETs, IGBTs, and SiC devices Familiarity with power conversion topologies such as DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, and inverters Understanding of power system protection and control, including fault detection and isolation Ability to perform power system analysis and simulation using tools Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers and internal teams Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues Willingness to travel to customer sites to provide technical support and training Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to power and energy systems, such as IEEE and IEC standards.
