Shipping Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY
We are in search of a proactive Shipping Coordinator to oversee and streamline our shipping operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting yard walks to confirm the status of trailers in the yard and dock doors, updating truck mapping Excel sheets accordingly. This role involves coordinating yard movements, communicating with yard personnel, and issuing pick-up or swap instructions as necessary. Additionally, the Shipping Coordinator will play a pivotal role in facilitating the loading of materials, collaborating closely with other Jabil employees. Ensuring accurate and timely retrieval of purchase orders (POs) is also a key aspect of this position. As a forklift-certified professional, the Shipping Coordinator will bring expertise in safe material handling to the role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Yard Management: Conduct yard walks at the beginning and end of each day to confirm the status of trailers and dock doors, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
-Truck Mapping Updates: Maintain and update truck mapping Excel sheets to reflect the latest information gathered during yard walks, facilitating efficient logistics planning.
-Yard Coordination: Coordinate yard movements and communicate necessary instructions to yard personnel or yard dogs for trailer pick-ups, swaps, or relocations.
-Loading Facilitation: Assist in the loading of materials, collaborating with other Jabil employees to ensure efficient and safe handling practices.
-PO Retrieval: Pull purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner to support shipping operations and maintain workflow efficiency.
-Forklift Operations: Utilize forklift equipment safely and efficiently to move materials as required, leveraging certification to uphold workplace safety standards.

Additional Flexibility:
Beyond the outlined job responsibilities, the Shipping Coordinator should demonstrate flexibility in adapting to evolving operational needs and participating in cross-functional activities. This may include assisting other departments during peak periods, contributing ideas for process improvement, and actively engaging in training opportunities to expand skills and knowledge.
