Role Overview

**We are looking for**:

- A highly motivated chemist, chemical engineer or material science engineer with a good knowledge of polymers and membrane technologies (especially hemodialysis).
- Project management and the ability to combine the excellence of the technical content of his/her work with efficient time management and communication skills are also required.

**We count on you for**:

- Develop, in conjunction with other R&D, technical and commercial functions, new materials and processes in the frame of water treatment and hemodialysis membranes
- Support the introduction of Solvay Specialty Polymers’ materials in the Advanced Separation markets
- Act as Project Leader in multi-functional and international teams, coordinating experimental work in the labs in cooperation with lab technicians
- Initiate and be in charge of a portfolio of projects in the hemodialysis domain
- Stay up to date with technical and market dynamics by creating and maintaining a network of interactions with Academic and industrial entities.
- Promote/Support the adoption of Solvay Specialty Polymers materials in the market
- Execute detailed experimental plans for product development and customer support activities including hollow fiber spinning and extrusion and flat sheet casting.
- Prepare and submit samples for testing; collect, organize data and communicate to the team and the Manager
- Help the mem lab. to operate and maintain relevant equipment, instrumentation and experimental techniques, incl. Hollow fiber spinning machine.
- Participate in peer and area coordinator safety audits and attend all required safety meetings & training.
- Strongly Interact with the lab team and lab manager
- Prepare internal reports and presentations
- Take initiative in developing new ideas and concepts to be applied to new product and technology development
- Strong analytical skills and proactivity
- Supported by with other functions, timely deliver results on projects as per projects schedule
- Execute detailed experimental plans for product development and customer support activities including hollow fiber spinning and extrusion and flat sheet casting.
- Prepare and submit samples for testing; collect, organize data and communicate to the team and the Manager
- Coordinate external tollers and labs
- Strongly Interact with the lab team and lab managers
- Interact with potential customers

**You will bring**:

- A solid knowledge at University level of material science, bioscience, chemistry or chemical engineering.
- Solid experience in the typical processing technologies used in the membrane technologies field is a must.
- Previous experience in dealing with customers is considered a valuable plus.
- Knowledge of English and Italian languages are a must.

- Geographical mobility is considered a plus. Availability of traveling for about 20% of the time is required.
