Employee Relations Specialist, Global Labor

Job summary The Global Workforce Labor Standards team (GLS) supports Amazon Worldwide Consumer ensuring consistency and reducing employee relations risks in our employment practices and policies worldwide. The team inform Amazon Employee Relations (ER) services and drive accountability by ensuring prioritization, visibility and compliance of our HR policies and practices across business lines. GLS team is looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to support new country expansion projects, with a demonstrated passion on creating and maintaining a positive employee experience, a great ability to invent on behalf of our employees in different locations around the World, a proven expertise on industrial relations area and hunger for learning. The ER Specialist - Expansions will play a critical role in advancing our mission. You will be supporting Amazon's Ops and Corporate new launches into new countries and geographies where there is no pre-existing Amazon presence. You will join a team of ER professionals and will help shape the culture and direction of this team. Help define employee and industrial relations strategy for Amazon operations in new countries and geographies under expansion, respectful of local regulations and practices, and aligned with companys vision. Dive deep, Learn and Be Curious:
Research into new countries labor relations background, policies and local practices. Utilize data to deliver meaningful insights and trends to help inform employee and industrial relations strategy in a given country. Deliver Results, Solutions oriented:
Ensure the implementation of the employee relations strategy recommended actions, help preparing and delivering trainings, ensure employee feedback mechanisms are in place in newly launched operations and implement necessary updates in Amazon policies and handbooks based on local particularities. Invent and Simplify:
Support the creation of standard processes and products to build the portfolio of ER solutions during new country launch projects. Amplify the Voice of the Employee:
Identify current or expected defects in the employee experience, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions. Provide the employee perspective to any decision-making process. Cross-Functional Collaboration capacity:
Interact with global expansion teams at all levels supporting new country launch projects, becoming a trusted partner in solving issues; act as the ER team voice in the assigned expansion projects. Coordinate the work of external consultants in different geographies. Effective Communication:
Make sense of complex information and communicate effectively to audiences of varying levels of experience. Manage partners to identify employee relations issues and pull-in the right stakeholders to create and implement solutions. Present recommendations in business reviews and identify opportunities to scale solutions for all relevant businesses. Educate and Coach:
Provide proactive education on ER-related topics, including labor relations' basics, union management best practices, two-way feedback mechanisms, engagement, effective communications, emotional intelligence, and psychological safety to global expansion team members. A day in the life In this newly created role, the ER Manager Expansion will focus on supporting expansion projects around the World, deep diving on labor relations background, regulations, policies and practices in proposed new countries, and providing the right level of expertise in the ER field. The ER Manager Expansion will support the creation of a standard framework of solutions and programs to support new country launches; the programs will align Employee Relations already existing curated services, technology, messaging, and auditing mechanisms to deliver results on behalf of our employees in newly launched countries.
