**Are you keen on combining your passion for agriculture and sustainability with your technical knowledge of cereal crops and supply chains and your knack for monitoring, reporting, and verification?**

Join us as a part-time consultant and support us in our efforts to innovate sustainable agriculture. As a flexible member of our team, you'll collaborate closely with the Landscape Enterprise Network (LENs) Program Manager and Lead Agronomist to revolutionize farming practices.

Your tasks will involve providing crucial technical assistance to farms engaged with the LENs Program, crafting proposals, overseeing the implementation of sustainable measures, and monitoring their impact directly in the field. You'll also play a pivotal role in shaping our Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) strategy and ensuring data integrity through fieldwork support. Engage with stakeholders at various levels, contributing your expertise to drive meaningful change. Your work will not only influence the present but also pave the way for a more sustainable future in agriculture.

**What you can expect**:
As an external consultant coordinated by the Preferred by Nature representative in Hungary, you will be tasked with the following objectives to support the LENs Program in collaboration with the Program Manager and Lead Agronomist:

- Technical Assistance for Proposals: Assist farms in drafting proposals for the LENs Hungary tender, ensuring alignment with the project's Information Manual and the guidelines outlined in the Measures Technical Guide.
- Oversight of Implementation: Monitor the timely and correct implementation of sustainability measures on participating farms, adhering to the established LENs guidelines.
- Field Monitoring: Conduct regular field visits to evaluate the effectiveness and compliance of the implemented measures, providing hands-on support and insights.
- MRV Strategy Support: Work closely with the project consortium to aid in the development and management of the Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) strategy, ensuring its effectiveness and alignment with project goals.
- MRV Field Work Assistance: Support the MRV service provider in field activities, including data collection and verification, to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the MRV process.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Actively participate in stakeholder meetings at both county and national levels, either in person or remotely, to contribute expertise, share insights, and foster collaborative relationships.

**Job Type**: Around 30-40 hours a month (max)

**Contract timeframe**: 1 year (renewable)

**Important that you**:

- Have a Master's Degree in Agricultural Sciences or similar.
- Are self-employed - consultant.
- Have technical knowledge of cereal crops and supply chains.
- Are an advanced user in the use of computer media such as Word, Excel and OneDrive.
- Have proficiency in Hungarian and English.
- Driving license and equipped with own vehicle
- Ability to work in a dynamic and creative team.
- Personal characteristics: proactivity, curiosity, desire to grow professionally.

For over two years, Preferred by Nature has been collaborating with food companies in the Western Transdanubia region, where intensive agricultural activities cause a serious risk of soil degradation and groundwater contamination. In collaboration with various public and private entities, Preferred by Nature is committed to promote regenerative agriculture practices and to create natural habitats to promote biodiversity and foster more sustainable management of land and water resources.
