As a Financial Accountant, you will be part of the GBS and Tax Reporting team for Italy, together with two more colleagues and will provide support in all aspects of day-to-day financial control, corporate, tax and statutory reporting.

**Key activities and responsibilities**:

- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying and recording accounts payable data.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledgers to ensure all the invoices and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Bookkeeping tasks for several legal entities in Italy, such as accruals, prepayments, and accounts receivable, among others.
- Manage the fixed asset register (record newly acquired fixed assets, record depreciation and disposals).
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting deadlines and review journal entries, balances, and other financial statement line items.
- Perform month-end closing journals to ensure high-quality financial data and review management accounts.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Active participation in the monthly Group reporting process in IFRS to the Corporate Finance department.
- Preparation of tax returns, including monthly and quarterly VAT, WHT and other similar returns.
- Collaboration with the senior team to ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations.
- Identify, investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities to ensure accuracy.
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to drive efficiency.
- Assist with the year-end audit and other internal and external audits.
- Respond to ad-hoc queries and coordinate reporting processes with other departments and functions as required.
- Proper archiving of financial documents and records in compliance with legal and company requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting and/or auditing.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in multinational companies and/or accounting consulting firms. Experience in the renewable energy industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of IFRS and Italian LGAAP.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP).
- Fixed Asset Accounting with RE-FX in SAP (non-mandatory, desirable).
- Good knowledge of Excel and MS Office.
- Knowledge of Tax returns, especially Italian tax returns, will be a plus.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
