**Middle Office Team Lead**
Milan, Italy
As part of the Operations Division in AXA XL Italy, the Middle Office Team Lead oversees a team of Underwriting Assistants colleagues to ensure high quality, timely service to all stakeholders by acting as the primary point of contact from an operational perspective.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Ensure that both individual & corporate targets are met while fostering continuous development of staff. Ensure that staff remain motivated, focused, engaged & act according to AXA XL commitments. Provide feedback to staff both formally & informally. Ensure staff professional update and continuous training. Manage Interns/trainee onboarding and training on the job.
- Ensure that all functions within the team follow relevant procedures, KPIs and are compliant with regulatory requirement.
- Monitor and report fulfillment of MO KPIs to Operation Lead
- Continually look to enhance the efficiency of the processes, find and implement solution to mitigate and improve them. Introduce, develop & document improved ways of data analysis and interpretation.
- Coordinate meeting with important Stakeholder to monitor ongoing activities, check common procedures and objectives: UWs, Claims, CC&CM and Reinsurance
- Coordinate meeting with ESS Poland/ESS India teams to check activities and find solutions to improve processes.
- Direct Management of owned accounts according to rules and guidelines reporting in a timely manner.
- Act as an effective deputy/alternate for Middle Office Operations Lead/Manager as may be required.

We are looking for someone who has these qualifications and skills.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance policy forms (Property and Casualty), operating systems, rating, coding, and policy administration.
- Has knowledge of the insurance regulatory system and Underwriting process. Anticipate key issues and negotiate high stakes or multi-entities contracts. Awareness of compliance procedures & regulatory reporting requirements.
- Focus on Customer centricity: place the customer at the center of all decisions and actions. Leveraging technology and data, understand and anticipate customer needs and behaviors. Use empathic listening and formulate customized advices and solutions.
- Demonstrate decision-making skills by selecting the relevant information among vast amounts of available data; perform a data and fact-based analysis of the situation, even in uncertain contexts. Swiftly identify the alternatives and select the best one. Keep the focus on achieving his/her goals over time.
- Demonstrate leadership and get the team to embrace his/her position. Remain composed and manage his/her own stress, without letting negative emotions linger. Convey a clear vision, take others’ perspectives into account and use data / facts to agree on a common vision and roadmap. Reach a win/win closure of the situation, accepted by all parties involved.
- Have a logical and innovative approach providing solutions to complex problems.
- Able to work under his/her own initiative and manage priorities in order to meet tight deadlines.
- Communicate and work in Italian and English.
