**Head of Commercial Director Reports to**: General Manager Location: Milan Position Summary This position is focused on commercial execution i.e. delivering topline and managing commercial local resource deployment. This role will lead the local Commercial business as manager responsible for Sales and Marketing, maximizing the impact of F2F and virtual engagement and will be accountable for achieving revenue goals. The Head of Commercial will accomplish goals and objectives by leading the incountry sales and marketing functions directing all aspects of commercial activities.

The position is also responsible for participating in the global and regional strategic planning process in collaboration with the Therapeutic Area Lead (TA) and General Manager (GM). Principal ResponsibilitiesAccountable for commercial goals including patient identification and patients on therapy targets and revenue goalsDrive Marketing and Sales executionDirects all aspects of commercial activities (e.g., writing SIPs, signing off marketing approvals), building and developing effective teams and ensuring cross function alignmentCollaborate with TA, GM and other functions on global/ regional market strategy to achieve revenue and commercial goalsDevelop and implement incountry strategic and tactical business planManage and regularly report business outcomes to local, EU and Global leadersEnsure strategic alignment and resource allocation across indication and within the business unitLead Sales Force/Marketing Build and manage effective teams (recruit, train, develop, etc.)Responsible for managing department budget Member of the Country Leadership TeamEnsure coordination with other country functions, sharing lessons learned and best practices across therapies/ indicationsSupport Access (dependent on each country practice)Oversee the development and implementation of incentive compensation plans where appropriate QualificationsThis incumbent must have a good mix of experience, potential and aspiration to grow into a GM roleMinimum of 10 years of Sales and Marketing experience in the biopharma industry, desired in orphan drugs or specialty marketsPrior experience leading sales teams, marketing and other multiple teams in crossfunctional environmentsDemonstrated experience managing budgets Proven leadership capabilitiesDemonstrated launch experienceKey account negotiation skills Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills Excellent communication and presentation skills required Desired experience in relevant orphan drugs/ rare diseases Desired experience working in a multicultural or International environment Education Minimum Bachelor degree in business and/or scientific field is required Master degree in business administration preferred Fluent in local market language and English, written and oral
