Overview:
responsible and accountable for all Element business operations and processes within the assigned location (profit and loss responsible).

These Laboratories perform tests for mostly large companies from different sectors, including energy, chemicals and steel. Our customers come to us to make sure that the materials and products they make or use have the properties they expect. **Responsibilities**:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- The General Manager has an overall EBITDA responsibility of less than $3M.
- Responsible and accountable to drive and deliver to annual Operational Plan commitments includin revenues, profit, working capital and operational performance.
- Lead and inspire a culture of safety first.
- Responsible to work with location support functions and systems including QA, Safety and Health, Sak and Strategic Accounts, Finance, Human resources, Business Improvement, and Service Excellenc Maintain current knowledge of corporate and location policies and procedures.
- Develop and execute short and long term business plans and strategies to include operational goal equipment needs, and staffing for the location. Working in conjunction long term group goals, develop ar implement strategies based on geographic business industry knowledge, technical capability and expertis and capital expenditures needs,
- Provide managerial guidance to staff on reporting needs and requirements. Review reports, activitic status, productivity, budget variance, and all other significant business issues on at least a monthly basi Prepare and submit accurate forecasts as required, maintain acceptable levels of working capital, ar determine and execute on corrective actions necessary to achieve plan goals.
- Provide guidance, direction and developmental opportunities that allow staff talents to be identified ar groomed. Likewise, provide direction and counseling to underperforming employees.
- Provide positive leadership and representation of Element to the public, customers, vendors, and to employees through membership in professional organizations, serving on Company Task Force conducting employee meetings and visiting work areas.

Supervisory Responsabilities- Fully responsible and accountable to assigned direct reporting staff and to indirect departmental decisions to include hiring, performance management, and performance review decisions and execution.
- Development of staff in line with HR strategy
- Work with assigned staff to ensure work schedules are maintained and balanced.
- Maintain an environment of respect and dignity within the department covering employee interactions and problem solving while ensuring work rules/behaviors are known and followed.

Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications/Education and/or Experience:

- Working knowledge of laboratory safety.
- A bachelor's degree in Management, or, a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a management role
- Related experience managing.

Other Skills and Abilities
- Understands that all functions within the lab fall under his/her direct purview. Works closely with Division Director with regard to areas of lab development and support.
- Technical leadership is vital to the production and operation of assigned tests.
- Technical leadership is vital to the overall operation of the entire lab.
- Must possess a strong ability to communicate (written and oral) effectively with clients and colleagues with great attention to detail and timing of results.
- Ability to organize the lab as a whole in line with the strategic, operational and technical goals of the entire company.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to effectively establish and maintain two-way communications to understand the needs and concerns of all departments.
- Ability to effectively provide managerial guidance to all staff on all functions within the lab.
- Ability to deeply analyze and resolve operational, finance and other significant business issues on a daih basis,
- Has a broad business, finance and operational excellence acumen.
- Maintains a deep understanding of the both the market in which the lab is located as well as the national and global Testing, Inspection and Certification market.
- Is able to translate this market awareness into both a strategic and tactical management approach whict contributes to the success of the lab at all levels.
- Has proven track record of success with regard to managerial, technical and operational competency both inside and outside of the lab. Is regarded by stakeholders within the lab as well as in the larger Element Sector
- as a successful focused leader in the overall Element system.
