Temporary Production & Operations Setup Manager - Industrial Automation / Robotics Sector

For one of our clients, a leader in the Industrial Automation/ Robotic sector, we are looking for Temporary Production & Operations Setup Manager

Your Tasks

- Set up production processes, assembly flows, workstation methods, and SOPs.
- Define plant layout and supervise machinery installation.
- Create the warehouse management model, codification, and traceability.
- Structure the industrial BOM and procurement flows.
- Lead supplier scouting and qualification, ensuring technical and contractual compliance.
- Implement quality checkpoints (incoming, in‑process, final).
- Deploy KPIs, reporting tools, and dashboards.
- Support ERP/MES definition and initial configuration.
- Ensure complete technical and process documentation.
- Train and transfer ownership to the internal team.

Technical Skills

- 10+ years in production, operations, or industrialization in mechatronics or automation.
- Proven experience in setting up production systems from zero.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, DFM/DFT, and traceability.
- Experience with BOM, ERP/MES, and supplier qualification.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and relevant industrial standards.

Education

- Degree in Management Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.

- Duration: 6–8 months or more
- Engagement: part‑time or full‑time
- The role is available in freelance/contract mode
- Fluent in: English (B2 or above)
- Work locations: Bologna, Italy – nearby production site
