Position: Embedded Software Engineer


• The individual will be tasked with the development and testing of embedded software applications for railway systems and electronic devices, specifically in the domain of train communication and diagnostic systems.

• Responsible for delivering software that meets Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) standards.

Key Responsibilities

Accountabilities:


• Ensure timely delivery of software in accordance with the Engineering Work Package.

• Implement and adhere to Train Control & Information Solutions development protocols, processes, and design standards for assigned projects.

• Maintain proper management and traceability of hardware and software configurations, including design tools, and produce release documentation.

Responsibilities:


• Design and develop embedded software modules for electronic equipment, ensuring compliance with software requirements, design specifications, and Interface Control Documents.

• Oversee, control, and consolidate software development activities, manage project timelines, and report any delays or issues to the work package supervisor.

• Integrate software modules within TCMS subsystems (such as diagnostic systems and train-to-wayside communication systems) and manage configuration for software activities.

• Create the software integration plan, integrate various functionalities, and provide relevant reports as necessary.

• Assist with Supplier interface testing on the TCMS Test Bench.

• Provide support during train integration and validation upon request.

• Ensure optimal performance of executable code deployed on the target system for the projects led.

• Initiate and monitor action plans to address issues and enhance project outcomes.

• Share insights and experiences with the Domain Leader and propose enhancements to the Software Development processes and tools established by the Domain Leader.

Educational Qualifications

A Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in electronic or software engineering is required.

Professional Experience

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in software development phases, including requirement gathering, software development, and hardware-software integration, preferably in the Railway or Automotive sectors. Extensive experience in embedded software design and implementation for complex diagnostic data management systems using C/C++. Proficient knowledge of Linux-based operating systems. Familiarity with network protocols such as MVB, Ethernet, CAN, RS 232, and RS 485. Experience in managing work packages for subcontractors. Proficient in both spoken and written English.
