Job Summary:

The State University of New York Upstate Medical University seeks a highly skilled PET/CT technologist to join our team. As a PET/CT technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic procedures and ensuring that all equipment, policies, and procedures adhere to ACR standards, manufacturer recommendations, and NYS Radiation Safety Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform PET/CT examinations with precision and accuracy
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicists, and radiation safety personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure optimal imaging results
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advances in PET/CT technology

Requirements:

  • AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
  • NYS license/registration in Nuclear Medicine (must obtain within 6 months of limited permit)
  • Registered with Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) (must obtain within 1 year of appointment)
  • One year experience as a radiologic technologist, plus current CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • NYS License/Registration in Nuclear Medicine
  • Registered with Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive technical experience

Work Environment:

  • 40 hours/week; Monday-Friday; Specific hours to be determined
  • Will be required to work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis
  • Overtime may be required based on departmental needs
