EHS Lead – Europe and Russia: A Strategic Role in Environmental Sustainability

Pfizer, S.A. de C.V is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead to join our team in Europe and Russia. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in promoting compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations at our commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a Team of EHS Professionals: You will oversee a team of EHS professionals located at multiple locations across Europe and Russia, ensuring that all Global Workplace Experience supported operations and locations have compliant EHS programs.
- Develop and Maintain Relationships: You will develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, customers, vendors, contractors, and consultants, to foster a culture of safety and resilience across Europe and Russia.
- Provide Guidance and Mentorship: You will provide guidance and mentorship to Country Managers to ensure accountability for EHS and business resilience is understood and implemented.
- Implement EHS Standards: You will implement Pfizer's EHS standards to create policies, procedures, and programs to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment.
- Support Governance Structure: You will support the Global Workplace Experience EHS governance structure through attendance at regular meetings, communicating key information, and documenting outcomes.
- Conduct Assessments and Reviews: You will provide independent assessments of EHS performance and conduct reviews to ensure EHS risks at European and Russian sites are identified, evaluated, and effectively managed in compliance with regulatory and Pfizer EHS management system requirements.
- Monitor and Evaluate Performance: You will monitor and evaluate EHS performance and compliance of operations, locations, and business lines in Europe and Russia using audits, inspections, metrics, and feedback.
- Ensure Training and Development: You will ensure appropriate EHS and business resilience training is delivered to European and Russian Commercial employees and contractors.
- Support Sustainability Goals: You will support Pfizer's Net Zero goals and Global Workplace Experience Sustainability and Wellbeing strategy, and in partnership with the Global Workplace Experience Environment Advisor ensure Sustainability Master Plans are developed and managed where applicable in European and Russian offices.
- Develop Emergency Response Plans: You will support the development and maintenance of emergency response plans and associated training, to ensure colleagues and contractors are prepared for emergency situations.
- Investigate Incidents and Near-Misses: You will ensure incidents and near-misses are reported, root causes identified, and corrective and preventative actions implemented, and where applicable lead the investigation process.
- Support Audit Lifecycle: You will provide audit lifecycle support to sites, including maintaining audit readiness across European and Russian sites.
- Contribute to Data Analysis and Review: You will contribute to data analysis and review, including preparation of performance reports to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety: A degree in occupational health and safety or a related field.
- Minimum 7 Years' Experience in EHS: A minimum of seven years' experience within environmental, health, and safety.
- Ability to Interpret Legislation: Ability to identify relevant EHS legislation and interpret requirements across differing European and Russian markets.
- Experience in Developing EHS Programs: Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing EHS programs across international markets.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in Emergency Response: Experience in developing and implementing emergency response procedures and overseeing incident investigation and root cause analysis.
