Position Title: Plant & Process Engineer

Location: Pisa

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • Assist the Process & Plant Engineering site Lead in executing routine and special tasks assigned to the engineering team.
  • Facilitate project expansion initiatives.
  • Ensure continuous production operations.
  • Enhance and develop technological assets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate vendor and contractor management to support project execution and production efficiency.
  • Contribute to the manufacturing facility strategy and capital project roadmap in collaboration with the Process and Plant Engineering site Lead.
  • Assist in quality audit inspections and implement EHS local site programs and safety measures in compliance with current regulations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies on plant and process equipment.
  • Responsible for analyzing and defining equipment capacity models.
  • Support maintenance assessments for new equipment and help modify preventive maintenance programs in partnership with the Maintenance Department.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Department and other operational teams to resolve process equipment issues.
  • Assist the Engineering site Lead in the local deployment of global engineering initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of global engineering standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage local engineering SOPs, ensuring all engineering documentation is current and meets technical, quality, and safety standards.
  • Assist in the analysis and execution of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in coordination with other site functions.
  • Be available for on-call service as necessary.
  • Provide support to the site engineering lead in budget management.
  • Oversee change control and take ownership of new implementation projects.
  • Accountable for pest control systems in collaboration with the quality department.
  • Responsible for water and energy facility management, monitoring, and project optimization.

  • Manage process engineering within biotech and pharmaceutical operations and manufacturing environments.
  • Possess expertise in bioprocess engineering and in-depth knowledge of systems, equipment, and automation.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS: (Essential and desirable education and competency requirements for primary responsibilities)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong teamwork skills.

IT Skills:

  • Proficient in Office Suite tools.
  • Familiarity with commonly used industrial ERP software (SAP and JDEdwards).
  • Knowledge of popular project management software.
  • Basic understanding of cloud-based data access and sharing tools.
  • Able to analyze and interpret test results effectively.
