Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate all activities on major construction sites, collaborating closely with Discipline Leads until the acceptance of all packages. Ensure seamless execution of work through regular communication with contractors, mitigating potential hazards. Supervise the implementation and assembly processes, tracking project progress and verifying quality standards. Assume overall responsibility for the construction site, particularly concerning site safety, budget management, and project timelines. Prior to project initiation, prepare cost estimates, execution timelines, and site facility plans. Conduct daily site meetings during project execution to adapt to evolving circumstances. Serve as a strong leader representing VTU on-site, motivating and supporting all members of the Construction Team while engaging with clients to address site-related concerns.Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering (Master/Bachelor) or Diploma with a minimum of 25 years of professional experience, including at least 15 years in a similar role. Comprehensive understanding of HSE regulations. Proficient in PC applications (Microsoft Office, CAD, PDF management, Document management systems). Familiarity with QAQC handover requirements. Strong attention to detail. Confident negotiator capable of resolving conflicts effectively, serving as a role model for environmental, health, and safety considerations, and demonstrating teamwork, adaptability, and practicality. Promote a collaborative team approach, particularly in addressing challenges posed by decentralized engineering teams. Foster team spirit and motivate individuals, especially during challenging project phases. Preferred experience of at least 10 years in Chemical and/or Pharmaceutical construction environments, with fluency in Italian and English. Results-oriented with a willingness to learn and support team members. Guide and assist Construction supervisors in daily operations, collaborating with the Engineering department for issue resolution. Evaluate the working methods of all contractors on-site, ensuring adherence to general and project-specific operating procedures and compliance with authority permits and execution documents. Monitor and report on contractor performance and progress, including subcontractor capabilities. Organize construction activities to minimize interference and propose solutions for discrepancies, deviations, and delays. Maintain records of all relevant construction site activities as outlined in various project documents. Participate in workshops, review meetings, and regular project/team meetings as necessary.
