Network Administrator - Intermediate
As a Network Administrator - Intermediate with GDIT, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our clients' networks. With a strong background in network administration and a TS/SCI clearance, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our clients' local area networks, including the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain local area networks, including the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
- Study contractor products to determine those that best meet company needs and assist in the presentation of information to management for the purchase and installation of hardware, software, and telecommunication equipment.
- Manage network performance and maintain network security, ensuring that security procedures are implemented and enforced.
- Install all network software and evaluate, develop, and maintain telecommunications systems.
- Troubleshoot network problems and establish and implement network policies, procedures, and standards to ensure conformance with information systems and company objectives.
- Train users on network operation and perform administration duties for networking hardware, including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, ISDN adapters, firewalls, and other related network hardware.
- Monitor and respond to hardware and software problems using a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
- Install and configure network hardware and software, provide network troubleshooting and support, and provide technical support and training to end-users.
- Administer network security and back up file server data/disks.
- Set up new users and delete old users from the network and troubleshoot and resolve issues with network infrastructure and/or components.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support.
- Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
- Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
- Required Certification(s): DoD M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract, IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent, and Computing Environment certification: CCNA or CCNA-Security.
- Location: On Customer Site.
- Additional: Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract, position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity, and travel may be required to support the mission.

Salary Range: $83,096 - $50,817
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
