Network Administrator – Intermediate – TS/SCI required

HOW A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR - INTERMEDIATE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of the company's local area network.
  • Studies contractor products to determine those that best meet company needs, assists in presenting information to management, resulting in the purchase and installation of hardware, software, and telecommunication equipment.
  • Manages network performance and maintains network security.
  • Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced.
  • Installs all network software.
  • Evaluates, develops, and maintains telecommunications systems.
  • Troubleshoots network problems, establishes, and implements network policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring their conformance with information systems and company objectives.
  • Trains users on network operation.
  • Performs administration duties for networking hardware, including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, ISDN adapters, firewalls, and other related network hardware.
  • Must have a firm grasp and knowledge of fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies, capabilities, and cabling, and their connectivity to local and wide area networks.
  • Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems using a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
  • Installs and configures network hardware and software.
  • Provides network troubleshooting and support.
  • Provides technical support and training to end-users.
  • Administers network security.
  • Backs up file server data/disks.
  • Provides complex server maintenance.
  • Sets up new users and deletes old users from the network.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with network infrastructure and/or components.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Preferred Skillset/Experience:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
  • Required Certification(s):
    • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
    • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
    • Computing Environment certification: CCNA or CCNA-Security.
  • Location: On Customer Site.
  • Additional:
    • Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.
    • Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity.
    • Travel may be required to support the mission.
