Overview

At Hitachi Energy France, we are seeking a Material Manager to join our High Voltage Business Unit. The Material Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, supply, and logistics of manufacturing materials. This role involves establishing operational strategies and developing innovative products, processes, and standards that significantly impact functional outcomes. Effective communication with leadership is essential.

In this position, you will be tasked with driving standardized processes to sustainably lower inventory levels while maintaining a high service level. You will also focus on optimizing material flows, stock levels, and ensuring efficient and resilient inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Streamline processes to enhance stock levels through effective ERP utilization.
  • Establish metrics to assess optimal stock levels.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to ensure seamless material flow and a robust supply chain.
  • Implement efficient procurement practices to facilitate a smooth material flow.
  • Develop standardized inventory storage protocols.
  • Execute comprehensive material planning processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Proactively identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze and forecast inventory levels to ensure efficient operational routines.
  • Identify and implement enhancements in procurement processes.
  • Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions while supporting colleagues and the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a Material Manager or Coordinator role.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials, or a related discipline.
  • Strong operational and inventory management mindset.
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with a strong problem-solving ability.
  • Capacity to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with large, complex remote teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SAP.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English; proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
