Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team at Sidel. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies and supplier management for given categories of spend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement short and mid-term global commodity strategies for assigned spend categories, including strategic areas, by performing and consolidating conclusions of diverse and/or complex analysis (spent, cost breakdown) and business continuity assessment.
  • Define the annual saving forecast definition, identifying risks and opportunities. Responsible for the tenders (RFQ) for the allocated commodities.
  • Negotiate contracts with global and local suppliers, including lists, quality standards, prices, discount rates, duration, delivery timescales, commercial terms and conditions.
  • Perform supplier base management activities by ensuring contracting tasks, financial risk assessment, non-quality cost recovery, supplier visit and disengagement process, and manage supplier relationships at a global level, monitoring trends of KPIs and setting necessary corrective actions.
  • Scout new suppliers to comply with the category strategy and lead the qualification process, developing a unique sustainable supplier base.
  • Perform analysis in assigned spend categories, monitoring the market through constant benchmarking and/or cost breakdown analysis to continuously improve costs, quality, delivery, and technology, and escalate in case of main non-conformity.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: Master's degree in engineering is preferred; business, economics is also accepted.
  • Excellent English is mandatory (written and spoken).
  • Fluency in French, Italian, and/or Chinese is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years in strategic sourcing in an international manufacturing company; experience in indirect services sourcing is preferred and is considered an advantage.
  • Experience in international negotiation, contracting, and claim management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills as a key element to interact both with suppliers and internal stakeholders at different hierarchical levels.
  • Computer skills: proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc); SAP knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience outside of one's own country of origin is a plus.
  • Target-oriented, resilient, and able to work autonomously.
