Job Description

RINA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its team in the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop geotechnical engineering projects from the preliminary phase to the detailed design, including technical control of projects developed by other parties.
  • Design foundation and retaining structures, slope stability, underground structures, and other geotechnical topics.
  • Develop finite element or difference models for static and dynamic analyses.
  • Obtain soil and rock samples to determine compressibility, efficiency, strength, and other factors affecting structure behavior.
  • Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision of more experienced engineers.
  • Prepare technical deliverables, including technical reports, project performance documentation, and engineering drawings.
  • Prepare progress technical reports.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of project development and design.
  • PhD is an advisable requirement.
  • Experience in offshore campaigns is considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical engineering principles and practices, with a strong background in foundation and retaining structure design, slope stability analysis, underground structures design, and other geotechnical topics.
  • Experience in developing finite element or difference models for static and dynamic analyses.
  • Ability to interpret results from laboratory testing to determine compressibility, strength, and other factors affecting structure behavior.
  • Experience in the use of main geotechnics software packages (Plaxis, Gint, GRLWeap, DeepSoil) or programming languages is considered a plus.
