Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Buyer to join our team at Essity. As a Technical Buyer, you will play a crucial role in managing procurement for our facilities, ensuring that we receive high-quality materials and components on time and within budget.

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of materials and technical components, assessing their quality, costs, and ability to meet company requirements.
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions, including prices, delivery times, and payment terms, to ensure the best value for the company.
• Issue purchase orders for materials and technical components, ensuring all technical specifications are met and orders are delivered on time.
• Evaluate and monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery times, and compliance with technical specifications, managing any quality issues or delivery delays.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality departments to ensure that purchased materials and components meet technical and production requirements.
• Analyze material costs and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve cost efficiency.
• Ensure that all purchased materials and components comply with applicable regulations and safety standards.

• Degree in industrial engineering, economics, or similar fields.
• No prior experience required, but a strong aptitude for the role.
• Ability to negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to obtain the best value.
• Capability to develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, assess their performance, and manage any issues.
• Ability to analyze material costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ability to plan and organize procurement activities to ensure materials are available when needed.
• Ability to quickly and effectively identify and resolve technical and logistical issues.
• Clear and effective communication skills with suppliers, colleagues, and other departments.
• Ability to collaborate with various teams, including engineering, production, and quality.
• Preferable experience using enterprise management software (such as SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Proficiency in common computer tools (Microsoft Office, etc.).
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Italian to interact with international suppliers and read technical documentation.
• Ability to adapt to changes and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.
