Job Title: Lead Software Engineer

At OutSystems, we are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our team in Portugal. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, resiliency, and efficiency of our hosting platform. You will engineer for global scaling, develop tools and infrastructure to deploy, monitor, and manage production and non-production services, and ensure delivered solutions are optimized for ease of use, reusability, and scalability.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and implement automation infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements and are scalable, maintainable, and efficient.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development or operations.
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud platform (AWS or Azure or hybrid Cloud Environments).
  • Prior experience with NIST Framework or Federal projects is a bonus.
  • Experience with Kubernetes/Docker.
  • Expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, or SRE environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices and experience in code-based configuration, IaC, load-balancing, auto-scaling, monitoring, alerting, networking, and problem-solving in a cloud environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Proficient in any programming language, but be comfortable with learning a new language (Golang).
  • Background in highly-available distributed systems.
  • Hands on approach and willingness to learn; troubleshoot issues and solve problems where needed.
  • Comfortable collaborating with team-mates working from around the globe.
