We are seeking a highly skilled Project Developer to join our Energy Assets & Technology team at John Wood Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing renewable energy projects, focusing on solar, wind, and storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Project Development: Support the development lifecycle of utility-scale grid-connected solar and wind projects, including greenfield prospecting and construction-ready status.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external stakeholders, such as landowners, government bodies, and engineering designers, as well as internal stakeholders, including planning, legal, finance, and administrative teams.
- Project Evaluation: Conduct site surveys and pre-assessment evaluations of proposed areas for renewable power plant installations.
- Business Development: Develop new wind/solar business opportunities, focusing on innovative solutions, such as agro-photovoltaic power plants.
- Contract Negotiation: Assist the Development team in negotiating contracts with landowners and host community agreements with Municipalities.
- Project Management: Manage relationships with stakeholders involved in the development process, including statutory bodies, grid operators, internal departments, subcontractors, and law firms.
- Financial Analysis: Evaluate the economic viability of projects, including cost estimates and financial modeling.
- Technical Documentation: Write detailed technical/administrative documents for permit applications.
- Quality Control: Review all project documentation prepared by internal departments and external consultants.
- Energy Assessment: Use computer modeling software to assess energy production of projects and design preliminary layouts.
- Education: Master's degree in electrical/energetic/environmental engineering or environmental sciences.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Skills: Excellent writing skills, ability to edit and proofread finished work products, flexible and resourceful, strong team working attitude, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian.
- Knowledge: General knowledge of the planning and connection process for renewable energy projects, knowledge of project development process (wind, solar, storage), and experience with GIS software, Autocad, PV case, PVSyst, and windfarmer analyst.
