We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at nVent. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in advancing our success by delivering innovative electrical solutions to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Establish Technical Requirements: Interpret specifications and technical documentation to establish EHT Electrical Heat Tracing project technical requirements.
- Collaborate with Design Centers: Work with internal Design Centers to meet project schedule and budgetary constraints.
- Monitor Project Progress: Regularly monitor actual project progress against initial agreed schedule and instigate corrective measures to ensure deadlines are met.
- Design Electrical Solutions: Design electrical power and control solutions that satisfy project requirements.
- Ensure Equipment Specifications: Ensure all bought-out equipment associated with projects are correctly specified.
- Complete Technical Bid Analysis: Complete Technical Bid Analysis (TBA) for bought-out equipment and lead technical discussions with vendors as appropriate.
- Approve Vendor Documents: Check and approve vendor design documents, ensuring they meet project requirements and nVent standards.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests: Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) at vendors' works, ensuring that equipment is built and tested to the appropriate standards and documents.
- Represent nVent: Represent nVent in engineering design discussions with clients and subcontractors.
- Participate in Development Initiatives: Participate in development and improvement initiatives, and undertake internal and external training and product awareness.
- Travel Requirements: Willing and able to spend time away from the home office at either client offices or other nVent Thermal Management locations.
- Academic Background: Academic background in Electrical Engineering (Diploma/Degree level).
- Previous Experience: Previous experience (preferred but not mandatory) in or with engineering activities obtained in a process environment (preferably within the Oil, Gas or Petrochemical / Power industries). Typically 5 to 10 years.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of electrical power distribution, control and monitoring, piping, hazardous area classification (ATEX and IEC norms). Computer literate – able to use in-house design software packages and proficient in a wide variety of MS Office programs (Word, Excel). Fluent in English language (oral and written). Good knowledge of Italian language is mandatory.
- Personal Qualities: Self-starter/self-motivated, detail oriented and a good communicator. Dynamic and decisive personality, practical approach, able to work very independently. Excellent communication skills and skills of persuasion, positive approach and pro-active working attitude. Full driving license.
