Organizational Setting
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a global leader in the fight against hunger and malnutrition. With over 194 Member States, FAO works in over 130 countries to ensure that people have access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food.
Programme Description
The FAO Regular Volunteer Programme provides opportunities for individuals to contribute their skills and expertise to support FAO's mission and work. Volunteers will be assigned to a field relevant to the mission and work of FAO, and will work under the supervision of an assigned supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tasks and responsibilities as specified in the Terms of Reference (TOR) prepared by the hiring office.
- Work in a team environment to achieve programme objectives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of programme activities.
- Provide support to programme staff as needed.
Requirements
- Must have completed secondary school education.
- Working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish).
- Be nationals of FAO Member States.
