Job Title: Ethics Officer - World Food Programme

Join the World Food Programme (WFP) as an Ethics Officer and contribute to the enhancement of a robust ethical framework within the organization. As a key member of the Ethics Office, you will play a crucial role in managing conflict of interest disclosures, advising on policy development, and fostering internal and external relationships to promote a culture of ethics and accountability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide substantive input to the definition and implementation of the Ethics Office Strategy and Work Plan
  • Provide timely advice and guidance on ethics and standards of conduct to WFP employees and management
  • Contribute to the management of the annual disclosure programme by reviewing disclosed conflicts of interest and providing advice
  • Develop and deliver training programmes on ethics, values, principles, and standards
  • Provide advice and review on policy documents, circulars, and regulations where ethical aspects are involved
  • Support the review of requests for protection against retaliation and draft memos and responses as necessary

Requirements:

  • Advanced university degree in law, ethics, public administration, international affairs, compliance, or other related fields
  • 5 years of relevant progressively responsible experience in legal advice, compliance, risk-assessment, ethics, or other related areas
  • Theoretical understanding of ethics, compliance, and risk-assessment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Fluency in English language and intermediate knowledge of a second official UN language
