About the JobWe are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering division team based in Rome, Italy. As a key member of our Electrical Section, you will work on designing electrical systems for medium, large, and complex projects.
The role of the Senior Electrical Engineer involves developing assigned tasks independently, with minimal guidance from other seniors in the discipline. Your work will be periodically reviewed by the Lead Electrical Engineer to ensure the accomplishment of objectives.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Preparing project technical specifications in line with Project/Client requirements;
- Meeting Project quality and HSE objectives;
- Ensuring appropriate reporting on engineering/requisitioning activities to the Lead Electrical Engineer;
- Interfacing with other discipline engineers and Project support functions such as Procurement, Construction, and Planning;
- Supervising and coordinating the activity of a small group of drafters, junior/intermediate designers, and/or junior/intermediate engineers;
- Preparing and/or checking Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, and Wiring diagrams, Area Classification drawings, Grounding System layouts, Panel/Cable schedules, Equipment layouts, Cable layouts, Lighting system layouts, and Electrical installation details;
- Performing power system studies (short circuit, load flow, motor starting, arc flash, harmonic analysis) using ETAP or equivalent software;
- Performing calculations for main electrical equipment sizing, UPS sizing, Cables sizing, Lighting system, Grounding system, and Heat tracing system;
- Preparing Electrical Equipment Material Requisitions and Data sheets;
- Reviewing Vendor Bids and preparing Technical Bids Evaluation;
- Ensuring proper communication with Vendors and technical follow-up of orders;
- Reviewing Vendor Drawings;
You will have the opportunity to participate in business trips to attend technical meetings with Clients or Suppliers, visit Vendor workshops, move to other Technip Energies operating centers, and join our colleagues overseas. Occasionally, you will also have the opportunity to follow up engineering activities related to the Electrical discipline directly on our sites, supporting erection, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
About YouWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. You should have a minimum of 3-6 years of experience in detailed engineering and design of electrical systems for Refinery/Gas/Power/Renewables/Infrastructure projects in a similar position.
You should be fully familiar with international codes and standards like IEC, ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, CSA, UL, API, etc. Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to deal effectively with the design team in the resolution of project-related issues in an international and multi-cultural environment.
A high interest in current Energy transition challenges and Digital transformation process is required. Availability for international mobility for either short or long-term assignments is also necessary. Knowledge of new energy sources, renewables, green/blue hydrogen technologies will be highly appreciated. Advanced knowledge of Excel/VBA/Query and Database management is a plus.
