Key Responsibilities- Identify and onboard new clients, expanding our financial and physical downstream Sales Trading activities in Europe.
- Originate and execute client business, optimizing sourcing and risk positions.
- Work closely with the Renewables team to leverage cross-selling opportunities with newly established Sales Trading contacts.
- Drive the EU growth initiative of the CFD, building and shaping the new European business outside our well-established core areas.
- Establish and maintain relationships with trading partners on the up- and downstream side to support the Sales Trading business in the new markets.
- Manage your own CFD sales trading book, including position management and management of financial/physical risks.
- Responsible for PnL generation with the newly established client relationships.
- Manage all relevant business processes in the new markets in alignment with the relevant internal stakeholders.
- Drive and promote the new business activities internally, preparing commercial analyses and marketing material.
- University degree in business management, renewable energy, engineering, project management, or equivalent.
- Profound experience in energy sales trading gained from previous work experience in the banking, utility, and/or energy trading sector, preferably in Italy and/or France.
- High level of understanding of the risk management and hedging approach of different customer sectors, including industrial customers, aggregators, and the public sector, in energy commodities such as gas, certificates (GoOs, EUAs, VERs), and power (financially and physically).
- Project management skills would be an advantage, as a high degree of structure and organization are required in this role.
- Ability to collaborate closely with colleagues from across the RWE group and multiple stakeholders to achieve goals and meet tight deadlines.
- Pro-active and motivated individual with a keen interest in building a business.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to transfer knowledge between analysis and decision makers in other departments with an interdisciplinary approach.
- Fluency in either Italian or French with good English skills.
RWE Supply Trading is the interface between RWE and the energy markets around the world. With around 2,000 employees from over 70 different countries, we trade electricity, gas, commodities, and CO2 emission allowances. Our trading entity ensures the commercial optimization of RWE's power plant dispatch and markets electricity from RWE.
