Classroom Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Aide to join our team at Children First. As a key member of our early childhood program, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment for our young students.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in planning and implementing lesson plans, ensuring a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged birth to five.
- Provide individualized support to children, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective program.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of their child's progress and needs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; full-time aides must enroll in a program leading to a CDA, FCCPC, or ECE degree within two years.
- One year of experience working in an early childhood setting, preferably with a diverse population of children.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, stoop, bend, and sit on the floor to attend to children's needs.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, or access to transportation.
- Current health appraisal, updated every two years, and certification in First Aid and Adult, Infant, and Child CPR.
- Demonstrate knowledge of child development principles and practices.
- Provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions.
- Plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation.
- Use results of assessment to promote children's progress described in the early learning and development standards.
