We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Aide to join our team at Children First. As a key member of our early childhood program, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment for our children.
Responsibilities- Assist teachers and teacher assistants in planning and implementing educational activities that promote children's intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Support the delivery of high-quality program services that are developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate.
- Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, adhering to all sanitation, hygiene, and safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive and inclusive learning experience.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; full-time aides must enroll in a program leading to a CDA, FCCPC, or ECE degree within two years of hire.
- One year of experience working in an early childhood setting with a diverse population of children ages birth to five preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, stoop, bend, reach, and sit on the floor to attend to children's needs.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, or access to transportation.
- Current health appraisal, updated every two years.
- Certification in First Aid and Adult, Infant, and Child CPR.
- Demonstrate knowledge to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions.
- Plan and implement learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation.
- Use results of assessment to promote children's progress described in the early learning and development standards.
- Set and maintain professional boundaries with families.
- Use technology to plan, record, report, and monitor education and child development services.
The Classroom Aide will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a diverse group of children, families, and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively, think critically, and adapt to changing circumstances.
