About the Role

As an Automation Engineer at Amazon Italia Logistica S.R.L., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our automated systems. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our processes, allowing us to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues with key systems to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with the EU Controls network to monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics and provide data visualizations to internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement projects to enhance process efficiency and productivity.
  • Work with different departments to ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of systems.
  • Support global colleagues in installing and commissioning new equipment.
  • Provide technical expertise to other sites in the EU Controls network as needed.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to develop improvement strategies for code conforming to IEC standards.
A Day in the Life

As an Automation Engineer, you will be the site expert for keeping key automated systems running smoothly. You will work closely with our automation machinery, from conveyors to sortation systems, to ensure they are operating efficiently.

You will take the lead in identifying and resolving issues, and share your expertise with your colleagues to keep our automation systems in top condition.

Requirements
  • Relevant experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.
  • Experience supporting different conveyors and sortation systems.
  • Experience dealing with material handling, flow, and capacity visualization, and monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or another technical subject.
  • Experience working within ISO 13849 and ISO 62061 frameworks.
  • Experience working in a multi-site environment.
  • Project management experience with multiple frameworks such as Agile and Waterfall.
  • Experience of Six Sigma, data analysis, or process improvement techniques.
