Job Title: Automation Engineer

Amazon Italia Logistica S.R.L. is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in Cividate Al Piano, Italy.

About the Role

As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our automated systems, from conveyors to sortation systems. You will work closely with our Engineering Technicians to troubleshoot and repair issues, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Work with the EU Controls network to monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics
  • Provide data visualizations to internal stakeholders to support decision-making
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize processes and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with different departments to ensure accurate documentation and backup libraries
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Share expertise with colleagues to ensure seamless operations
Requirements
  • Relevant experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment
  • Experience supporting different conveyors and sortation systems
  • Experience dealing with material handling, flow, and capacity visualization, and monitoring
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or another technical subject
  • Experience working within ISO 13849 and ISO 62061 frameworks
  • Experience working in a multi-site environment
  • Project management experience with multiple frameworks such as Agile and Waterfall
  • Experience of Six Sigma, data analysis, or process improvement techniques
