About the Role

We are seeking a talented Shift Engineer to join our team at the San Domenico Palace Taormina. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting the day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance within the hotel rooms and public areas of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and handle preventative maintenance of all equipment and update appropriate logs
• Diagnose and handle all repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers and associated equipment throughout the entire building
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
• Perform scheduled building routine rounds
• Respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
• Respond to guest calls (HotSos) regarding maintenance of rooms and equipment in rooms or public area in a timely manner
• Install or relocate any additional equipment or existing equipment when necessary

Requirements

• At least three years experience in a hotel/resort environment in the same role with good knowledge of electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, heating/cooling, painting, carpentry, structural, recycling, ground care, parking areas, outsourced gardening team, fire and safety
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, along with the highest level of integrity and transparency, strong technical expertise, an eye for detail, and a passion for service

Schedule & Hours

• This is a full-time position
• The candidate must have a flexible schedule and work also on weekends and holidays
