We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genoa, Italy. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on the design of software applications for navigation systems for people with visual impairments in the context of smart cities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop application-level software associated with electronic systems for general-purpose systems and portable devices (smartphones, tablets)
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers in a multidisciplinary team
- Write documentation of implemented software to enable trials on subjects
- PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar disciplines
- Documented experience in software design and development for portable devices (development frameworks, Android & iOS development tools, and Python programming language)
- Strong publication record
- Ability to properly report, organize, and publish research data
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Good knowledge of gitlab, github, and SVN
- Basic knowledge of Electronic PCB and schematics
- Good communication skills
- Strong problem-solving attitude
- High motivation to learn
- Spirit of innovation and creativity
