Applied Materials' Automation Products Group (APG) is looking for a skilled MES Application Engineer to play a crucial role in our 300mm MES 300works, which is part of our comprehensive CIM solution. This position involves providing both onsite and offsite support, focusing on modeling, functionality training, and product assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support MES production and assist in the delivery of MES products and CIM projects.
- Engage in the design, development, testing, and documentation of MES products.
- Facilitate meetings throughout all stages of the product and project lifecycle, including requirement gathering, specification, development, testing, delivery, and sign-off.
- Analyze customer requirements and manufacturing challenges to determine effective MES solutions. This involves understanding the customer's operational environment, documenting processes, and collaborating with software engineers on MES functionality.
- Participate in documentation reviews as necessary.
- Conduct ongoing training sessions for customers related to sales and marketing initiatives.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and products by attending relevant classes, seminars, and conferences.
- Adhere to departmental and company quality standards.
Requirements
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German or French is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial setting is essential.
- Experience as a module engineer in a semiconductor fabrication facility is preferred.
- A degree in 300mm Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Science with a solid grasp of factory automation systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with 300works/FACTORYworks is a plus.
- Strong understanding of FAB operations and the ability to recommend and implement modeling structures for users.
- Knowledge of key manufacturing science concepts, including semi-auto and full-auto scenarios, process control behavior, and factory dispatching, is important.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and colleagues.
- Comprehension of complex factory CIM systems and human interactions.
- Preferred skills include proficiency in C++, C#, web programming, and SQL.
- Software engineering expertise is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to travel globally as needed.
