Job Description

Infineon Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Engineer Artificial Intelligence to join our team. As a key member of our Business Excellence Department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of AI at Infineon, driving strategic architecture decisions, and collaborating with stakeholders across different organizations and functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Architecture Decisions: Guide and drive strategic architecture decisions that shape the future of AI at Infineon, influencing product innovations and process optimizations.
  • Stay at the Cutting-Edge: Stay at the cutting-edge of AI technologies, sorting opportunity and maturity and translating cutting-edge technology innovation into viable, value-generating use cases.
  • Collaboration and Alignment: Collaborate with stakeholders across different organizations and functions to ensure implementation for scaling value and alignment of AI solutions with business goals and user needs.
  • AI Stack and Governance: Ensure availability and evolution of state-of-art AI stack (including GenAI), MLOps and Governance platform, drive and coordinate the requirements and AI architecture definition, user guidance aligned with our business needs.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor, share knowledge and foster AI talents; bring in industry experience and best practices. Guide and inspire our data scientist community fostering an environment of collaboration, creativity, and technical excellence.
  • Expert Network: Build and maintain a network of experts within Infineon and our larger ecosystem (e.g. cooperation partners, universities, institutes, innovators around the globe).
  • Tackling Challenges: Tackle the toughest of challenges with a combination of analytical prowess, innovative thinking, and a deep understanding of the AI landscape and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Responsible AI: Champion the responsible use of AI, ensuring our solutions are ethical, transparent and fair. Support our responsible AI office with expert advice to support continuous improvement and ensure that IFX stands out as a quality leader.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in Computer Science or Data Science or similar.
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant professional experience in the field of Data and AI, within the manufacturing / R&D environment and Generative AI applications, preferably with knowledge of semiconductor design and production, digitalization, and artificial intelligence.
  • Expertise: Outstanding knowledge and experience in Data Science and MLOps in the fields of ML/DL, Generative AI.
  • Specialization: Extensive expertise in at least one of the following areas: leveraging GenAI for enhancing efficiency and fundamental innovation, applying AI and machine learning in high-tech semiconductor production, utilizing AI and ML for improving quality, or specializing in EdgeAI and TinyML for IoT and embedded applications.
  • Software and Deployment: Proven and Demonstrated experience in the area of software and deployment, CI-CD, and ML operations, as well as software/AI quality.
  • Implementing ML/DL: Advanced expertise in implementing ML/DL in productive environments at scale (manufacturing and R&D).
  • Communication: Capability to quickly comprehend complex interrelations, structure them, and motivate others while building networks.
  • Language: Excellent communication skills in English and German to communicate effectively across roles and functions.
