Job Title: Senior Functional Safety Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join our team in the Functional Safety Office within the EBU. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring Micron's NVM products meet international Functional Safety standards, such as ISO 26262.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee technical activities aimed at ensuring Micron's NVM products meet international Functional Safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Development teams for the definition of the safety architecture and collaterals.
  • Participate in formal reviews of the technical content of multiple safety artifacts.
  • Contribute to define, adjust and maintain processes and templates for safety standard compliance.
  • Pipe-clean activity on specific artifacts, driving the technical preparation on leading projects.
  • Contribute to the introduction of new Functional Safety related standards by tailoring them for Micron context.
  • Contribute to create training material and development of educational programs at Company level.
  • Evaluate how AI can help in documentation management and customer support collaterals delivery.
  • Collaborate with Product Line Manager to provide requirements for the Product Roadmap definition.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert in external and internal audits and assessments for FuSa collateral for both development process and design ID specific content.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Functional Safety standards, such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build solid relationships with development teams and cross-functional organizations within Micron.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate, working always with a collaboration spirit.
  • Embracing Micron core values.
  • Ability to drive the team overcoming difficult situations.
  • Ability to promote innovative ideas and accept the risks that are required to lead change.
  • Ability for independent decision making and to assume higher-level leadership responsibilities in critical situations.
  • Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent in a technical field.
  • Experience with requirements management and traceability tools.
  • Knowledge of System-level knowledge is a plus (auto/industrial).
