As the Senior Project Development Manager, you will be an integral part of our Development Team, overseeing the renewable energy project lifecycle in the region while enhancing our portfolio in Italy.

Your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Identifying suitable locations for project implementation through comprehensive studies, technical assessments, and site evaluations.
  • Engaging with local authorities to initiate, negotiate, and secure necessary approvals, often in competitive scenarios.
  • Cultivating relationships and converting potential business opportunities with local and national stakeholders, including developers and public organizations, aiming to secure permits and achieve a ready-to-build status for wind and solar installations.
  • Coordinating various studies, including environmental impact assessments and technical evaluations, with support from both internal and external experts.
  • Preparing and managing the permit application process, ensuring diligent follow-up during the permitting phase.
  • Overseeing pre-construction activities, including geotechnical assessments and requests for electrical connections.

This role will also collaborate with the broader SSE Renewables development team, offering opportunities to diversify and engage with our expanding portfolio of Storage, PV, and Solar projects across Italy, at various stages of development.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Proven experience in the development of onshore infrastructure and management of environmental impact assessments and authorizations for renewable energy projects.
  • A strong background in business development and technical expertise in renewable energy, engineering, and services, with a focus on achieving key objectives such as permits and agreements.
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within the SSE Renewables Italian team, managing both internal and external resources, with a willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Proficiency in both Italian and English is essential; knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regional and national regulations pertaining to the wind farm authorization process, along with experience in AutoCAD and GIS for project design is preferred.
  • An understanding of the Construction and Handover phases is advantageous but not mandatory.
