We are currently working with an International Trading House seeking a skilled Physical Metals Trader to join their team in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and sell physical metal commodities
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers, negotiating logistics and financing arrangements
  • Attend client meetings and industry events (approximately 20% travel)
  • Develop commercial proposals, considering market dynamics and competition, and make informed decisions based on this analysis
  • Oversee operations, including logistics, letters of credit, and import/export activities

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in physical trading, with 8 years preferred
  • Background in base metals or concentrates
  • Comfortable with risk and change, with strong decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of metals trading
